Futuresonic 2008

An annual festival of art, music and ideas, which is currently in its 12th year, Futuresonic occupies the orbits of both music and digital culture.

A focus in recent years has been presenting artworks in unexpected city spaces, and on social art and social technologies.

Futuresonic now invites artists, thinkers and makers to get social and present new types of collaborative social experience at Futuresonic 2008.

This is a time when we see how electronic communication can isolate us, as more and more people drown in a deluge of email that generates stress, even reducing IQ; and it is 40 years since people took to the streets of Paris in 1968 calling for society to be abolished.

Join us as we go in search of the social today.

Web 2.0...
I take part
you take part
he takes part
we take part
you all take part
they profit.
(Slogan from Paris '68, remixed)

Call For Entries - Digital Art Masters 2

3dtotal-call.jpgFrom 3dtotal.com...

Following in the success of our first book 'Digital Art Masters: vol 1' we would like to announce the 'Call for Entries' for the second book of the series 'Digital Art Masters: vol 2'.

Vol I' was 3DTotal's first book project which featured some of the best 3d & 2d artwork from such artists as Natascha Roeoesli, Philip Straub, Rob Chang, Jesse Sandifer, PiSONG, Meny Hilsenrad and Ryan Lim. The one thing that set 'Digital Art Masters' apart from other gallery/catalogue books, was the fact that we wanted to show the readers how the images were created, so each artist wrote a breakdown overview to accompany their piece in the book.

'Digital Art Masters: vol 2' will again be showcasing some of the finest 2d and 3d images from talented artists across the globe. Initial submissions need to be of your final image only to enable entrance into the selection process. Chosen artists then need to supply an additional text overview with 'making of' and 'work in progress' images. See samples at bottom of page to give you a good idea of what is required.

Schedule and Calendar : Here is an estimated time table to show the steps and durations allowed in-order to get the book completed.

Call For Submissions (Deadline August 31st 2006)

digitalshow.co.uk is a new website created by artinliverpool.com. The intention is to show online-only exhibitions of high quality digital art.
The first exhibition is planned to take place as part of the 2006 Liverpool Biennial.
The site will then continue with further exhibitions and a permanent archive of all shows.

Digital Art for the purposes of this exhibition is defined as artwork that has been entirely or at least substantially created using computer software. e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Painter, Flash, 3ds Max, Maya, Bryce etc.
We do not want animations, video or photography though such elements could, we suppose, be used as part of the creation process.

What we are looking for is exciting, interesting painting and drawing rather than examples of your knowledge of the software tools, filters etc. New or recent work is preferred.

The Theme is FUN. Because we like fun, its our favourite thing.

This is not a competition and there is no money involved but there will be selection as the show is limited to 200 images
